no spinning, plugging,livebaiting allowed

fish41
Found out at AWAC meeting that spinning plugging etc is not allowed on any AWAC water . I did point out that no rules had been issued to me and maybe others who fish on their club card. AWAC rules are on the back of day/season tickets. So apologies if led anyone up the garden path to use them!  Deadbaiting is fine. this may partly be a Wirral Borough ruling and not just AWAC.

I was thinking this when people were on about piking on brotherton park, there's also a barbless rule and a no hook larger than a size 8 rule, so the only way to legally be fishing for pike would be on a single hook rig barbless, maybe as a hair rig fishing chunks, or fishing something small like a sprat on a hair rig, or lip hooking a deadbait and use elastic band or a bait saver to trap the deadbait in place. bit of a pain in the arse, I don't mind using single hooks for pike but they can easily throw a barbless hook.

i have seen that on the licence and ignored it as have loads ,before birkenhead park had its pike removed, is it h+s gone mad or some other reason ,if it's the old chestnut of foul hooked fish after years of lure fishing i've never seen others or personally foul hooked any freshwater fish (and only a garfish that tried to attack my lure in sea water ) it could'nt happen unless ya ripping a lure on a stupidly fast retrieve, and if ya retrieving lures like that it won't be long till ya give up using lures because ya will catch f 'all anyway , so as someone with experience in the matter of lures they will have to find a better excuse as that one don't fit , then the stocking levels in awac ponds are hardly rammed full enough to be accidently foulhooking carp every other chuck due to being left to die anyway and now on the hit list is pike being netted and possibly removed, they should at least let us fish for what is left in the lakes.
rant over
ps  google mick browns kebab rig as it is the one to use to get round the trebles rule i use only barbless for deadbaits for easier removal i'd rather lose a few than struggle to unhook a deep hooked pike anyway

i know, i've paid in excess of 35 quid to import single lures in from the us and japan and luckily i picked the subsurface diving  patterns for bass and bought some 3-5 quid spinnerbaits for the pike, if i would of picked them other way round i would of been fuming, looks like instead of wasting more money on lures for fishing for pike,i'll keep the money for petrol and drive to my welsh bass marks instead

like to share where these welsh bass marks are?.  only really  fished Dinas for them and had small school bass. watched a massive one near the floating cafe at caernarfon and only had fly gear in the car and managed to put a fly into my cheek trying to cast into the wind.
