Im a river angler who rarely goes to fisheries but I can't wait another 3 weeks for the season to open!!! Can anyone tell me if Yew Tree holds a decent stock of sizable tench and do they really go upto 9lb? It sounds like a decent fishery to me and I may give it a whirl.
i did not fish the large lake but i had two large 2-3lb tench on the small lake with bread feeding micros and corn regularly i also lost a much larger one also if you fish anypeg just straight out about 7metres and you should do fine

You could go for the good old tench approach of double red mag over the top of Red Expo. Tench love the colour red apparently (might be something to do with their eye colour!) so the expo is right up there alley. They also like a nice lob tail if you have any or as Wend mentioned some nice red coloured meat, probably stawberry flavour (correct me if I'm wrong but I think tincas have a sweet tooth!). I've also had good tench on prawn down the side.
Ive had very good results from feeding marine halibut pellets with hooker pellets over the top for tench in other water. They also seen to like the green swim stim groundbait and corresponding feed pellets (4-6mm probably best as it doesnt fill them up as fast). Just keep an eye out for a mini jacuzzi as they put loads of tiny bubbles up when they are on the feed.
This is purely from experience from other waters however as I havent tried these tactics on Yew Tree and I don't know if this would necessarily work there.
Always worth a go though! Let us all know how you get on.
