River Severn-Welshpool monday

Sort of planning a trip down the river on Monday (as it wont be frozen) but each time i put the rubbish out and feel that chill i keep having second thoughts. Hopefuly the pike, grayling and chub may oblige and who knows a barbel---trying to convince myself.

It is due to warm up as the week progresses.

Cheers Dave. Going for it- just been watching a load of youtube vids on winter river fishing--plenty there to get me over the threshold and plenty of tips. Video camera on charge so may even do a short vid.

There are some lovely chub in the Severn nowadays.
A couple of years ago I had a pb chub of 5 lb 3 oz and last year a friend had two 5 lbers in one session.
Make the most of it because there have been reports of otters killing specimen fish from Ironbridge to Welshpool and so the good fishing may not last long.
