Re: Help Needed

Our club had a match on Birkenhead Top Park on Sunday 24th. Brief details as follows:
28lb mixed bag of tench, crucians and skimmers on pellet over micros (peg 26)
25lb catch similar to the above (peg 5)
24lb of mainly skimmers on chopped worm n caster (peg 28)
21lb of mainly rudd on maggot shallow (peg 31)
20lb mixed bag at 4metres on pellet (peg 3)
Tench go to about a pound, crucians and skimmers average about 4oz, but go to 12oz, and there are barbel (which didnt show) also to 12oz. There are no carp stocked legally.
As you can see the fish are well spread around the pegs, and there's plenty to keep everyone busy.
Top park can be fished with AWAC card Mon-Fri, with matches at weekends.
Bottom park has similar stocking, plus a few illegal carp, although the average size of fish is bigger.
Once kids are back at school I'd recommend it to anyone.

Sounds good that. Especially that the fish are spread around. It was always so peggy that place in the 80's. You could  catch plenty of fish in the main bay, but they would be small, with the odd tench thrown in & a few crucians. The winning weights always came from pegs 28-31, where you could cast to the island for the carp.
