Popped down to visit this pond last year and scared some good sized carp in the margins and tench blowing. Went last week just to look .Pond is a bit open and fishing is restricted in places because of encroaching reed bed in middle and pond weed was covering about 70%. Some trees make interesting features. A couple of AWAC lads were down with long rakes preparing a couple of swims to fish the following morning. Would think its an early morning or evening pond and the local housing estate may mean better not to fish on own.

I live just across the road on the Spital estate, mate. There's no massive issues as regards to fishing on your own. You do get the odd gangs on there in the evening but it's not too bad. I walk the dog there quite often.

Ok thanks neil.. Just that when i went to have a look some drunk guy suggested throwing me in to  pull the weed out. !

interesting, used to fish the place a lot around 8 years ago when I lived up there, to be honest the scals were never bad lads, pain in the arse at times but you could fish alone I reckon, the brackie isnt that bad an estate, I live on the ford estate and fish the ponds alone!  might have to give it a try soon for old times sake. used to pull the carp out fishing corn or meat on the pole to the reeds in the middle of the pond.

interesting used to fish there now and again with my dad when he was alive ,it was called the 16 acre then .had a look today in passing on the way to a breakdown ,looks dead weedy and itd need a good raking for a good fishable swim .brought back a lot of memories too,might give it a go soon when the weather decides what its wants to do

AWAC looking to get the council to get hold of a machine to clear some of the sedge and other reeds and clean it out.
