Parkfield Farm Fishery

jamesonjim
Hi folks, I'm a new face on the site, looking to try new venues on the Wirral and Cheshire areas. I had a look at Parkfield Farm today, no one fishing, not surprising as the water was gin clear, but there were signs of fish on the lilies.

I'm thinking of having a go this week, has anyone fished it lately? I would be very grateful for any info.

Many thanks Jamesonjim

Hi jamesonjim And Welcome
Parkfield Farm,
A nice fishery, but not an easy fishery to catch on as the owner Alan Medows will tell you.
Some big fish in there of all sorts, it`s finding them this weather but always worth a try sitting in the sun.
Don't forget to have a look at the tackle shop in the stable yard

It fishes very well in hot weather.
However, it can be poor in winter. A friend of mine recently blanked - not even a small roach or perch!

Many thanks for the responses folks, its nice to be onboard. I've no doubt it is the same as many small fisheries that are not fished very much in the winter, slow and difficult. Its certainly got some deep water and I suppose you have to concentrate there. I'm going to give it a go in this next week and will let you know what happens. I'll be having a go at the silvers, rather than the carp, but of course anything will be welcome. Still its surprising what you can catch shallow, when the sun is out.

Many thanks once again

Just got back from parkfield farm fishery, never actually fished it just went along for a look thinking of going tomorrow, the shop is very very good! I couldnt believe the prices of the tackle! they have about 50 rods all under £15! I cant see myself going anywhere else for my tackle now after seeing their shop. I will let you all know how I get on if I do go tomorrow.

Hi,

I believe he has extended the shop, and has lots of top name tackle in there now, still can get a good deal on 2nd hand tackle.
