Fishing

Derek
I found a fishery on the net the other day so my friend & I drove all the way to fish this realy great sounding water. On the add it said that the water had been establisted for 5 years but when we got there the owner came round for fee's & he was having a natter &  that's when he let slip that it had only been fishing for 12 months. So if your thinking of fishing Parkfield farm fishery in the wirral sage ur money or go else where.Your not a happy angler Derek.

Maybe it's only been open to the public for 1 year.

The owner said something very similar to me, last summer it was open but nobody was catching because there wasnt enough fish in the lake, so they have stocked it with around 700 more for this year. i still think it needs more time/fish to become a good place, because the only things being caught are little uns, and not that many of them.

Hi Derek and Welcome

What you say about Parkfield Farm Fishery is about correct.
It has only been open to the public a few years but the lake has been their some time.

Last year Alan Medows the owner did stock it with a lot of fish but they are taking a long time to come out.
There are a number of big fish in there

Have a look at the fishery web site for yours truly with a 12.1/2 lb grass
Mind you it was the only bite I got all day

i've fished Parkfield a few times now, mainly in the mornings and had decent catches out of there including a whopper of a perch!  But saying that, i went last week in the afternoon till dusk, and only caught 1 small tench.  Personally, i've always found chopped worm best there.  But the carp do love double sweet corn at the island lilly's!! ;-)

yea, we saw the big fish all on the surface, but in the 5 hours we were there, we only caught 5 fish and i only saw 2 others being pulled out. There was also a large common found dead at the side of the pond approx 8-9lb.
