Distressed fish

Hi all,

Went to Four Oaks this morning Pete's Pond, saw thousands of fish gasping for air on the top, and around 10 good sized carp up to 10lb, just hanging on the suface gasping for air, called the owner and his wife over they did not seem too concerned.

I have been fishing over 40 years and I can say I know when fish are distressed and the water is short of oxygen, and that was what I saw.

If anyone can update this, say tomorrow then please do so.

Regards

Dave

Doesnt sound good.  Seems a bit unusual late september as its not been that hot. Rotting vegetation? Chemical spray got in ?

Hi All,

Update on Four Oaks Pete's Pond, called there this afternoon, he has got a hosepipe firing water onto the surface of the pond, seems to have put some oxygen in the water, no  small fish on the top, but about 8 large (6-10lb range) cruising near the surface, at least they are not gasping for oxygen, think it needs a good few days of rain to cure it.
