Fished it once, the site seemed ok, bit noist from the motorway but nice surroundings. Fished poorly and haven't been back since. Has one to many bait restrictions for my liking to. Heard a few bad things about it since but will give it a second chance soon.
Yeah it's not fishing too badly at the moment. The water level is quite low of late which has had a positive effect on the fishing.
I was there in mid Feb (dont ask why lol) and there were a few dead fish floating round with leaches in their mouths which didnt look to promising for the upcoming season but it seems as good if not better than it ever has been now the warmer weather has turned up.
I had a 14lb mirror out from the disabled peg in the middle of april and since have had a fair few 8-9lb commons. Seems to be a good head of crucian in there too.
The bait restrictions arent really an issue there to be honest as you'll catch on most traditional baits ie corn, meat, maggots, worms etc just as well.
Cant really knock it for a fiver a day, although one thing i will say is it could do with a toilet. Found myself a few times having to ask my mate to watch my gear while i pop home lol
I was there on Saturday 6th. Fished from 7.15 til 2pm. Had 2 nice tench and 4 common using only lobworm. There were 4 others dotted around and according to the keeper they hadn't caught much.
Fished it this Satuday just gone (21/11/2010). It fished really well considering it was quite cold. Ended up with four small bream, Three decent roach, two chub and a pretty little common of around 4lb. The motorway just becomes white noise after a while. My mate had a few roach and chub, a nice mirror of about 5lb and a common of about 3lb.
fished claremont about 2 or 3 months ago and it was quite quiet at the start but feediong up areas around reeds and plants helps. Bait i used was corn and maggots. Caught a small chubb and my mate caught a fairly small bream.

Hi Ken and Welcome
Glad you did well, there are some good fish in Claremont
But the noise from the motorway gets to me.
What was the water level like, I have heard it has a leak.
You're not wrong about the noise, Steve. My missus was going mad about it when we first moved here. Our house backs onto Brimstage Road & there's never a quiet moment in the garden. Ambulances & constant traffic.
fished it on various occasions but had one cracking day when i had 5 carp from 3lb to 7lb i fed up and then used the quiver tip with a pellet on a hai rig :)
cracking day would highly recommend it to anyone
