Brotherton aka Woodslee

fish41
Off in search of Pike managed a 3 hour spinning, plugging, lure session on glorious friday before the rains came. 2 pike . 3lb and 4lb ish on successive casts around the middle of the day. Both took a Mepps 3 Lusox (big silver blade with a red fluff dressed treble). Always nice to target and catch new species on different methods. And hello again to Sir Bob .

Tip for retrieving dangling lures from trees. If perchance you cast over a branch or two one way to get your lure back without risking it snagging in the branches is to leave it in the water and cast another lure, spinner etc over the line thats in the water (try not to get the trees again) leave bail arm open on the snagged lure reel and try and catch your lure and reel it in. Then just cut the line and wind the snagged line back through the branches. If that makes sense. Managed to rescue a rapala and a plug that i had cast over branches.
