Giving Yew Tree a go Thursday.  Fished it twice before with mixed results, hopefully this time it'll be worth spending the days holiday!

Fishing the small lake Friday
Might even try a bit of pole fishing if my back can stand it, been painting the house all week

went yew tree today at about ten. fished the big lake on the carp gear to the island very slow to start with. moved on to 11mm pellet fished over 2 mm pellets then it went crazy at what i thought was usually the worst time of the day about 3 o clock. picked up my first carp about 8 pound, then i kept looseing them, they were swimming towards me that quick they were slipping the hook with the slack line. then i got snapped by which felt like a cracker, then i lost a nice one at the net, and thought quit now! i ended up with another 4 carp up to about 8 pound then it all stopped in which i thought was the best time of the day. i lost one more and decided for a pint. overall a good day, and yew tree is fishing better than anywere ive fished this year thinking of goin back on friday.

Try the small lake, fish light on a float and a match rod, you can have some great fun with lots of 3 or 4 lb carp

Well I fished Yew Tree today OMG!!!

19 fish in total!  Rough weights (could be doing myself an injustice!)

5 bream - 2 to 3lb
2 barbel - 2lb
2 mirror - 5lb
5 tench - 5 to 7lb!
5 Common 6 - 10+lb!!!

Amazing day, bites all day long.  Took photo's of most of them but best fish of the day (photo's don't do them justice).




Net is 22 inches if it helps.  Both were like trying to pull in a steam train.

Oh yeah, don't think I'll be going anywhere else to be honest.  Sore back today, wind burn and I still stink of fish pellets, but worth it.

Broke all my PB's yesterday, the carp is great, biggest I've caught, but those tench were something else, I've never seen so many so big!  What does he feed those things, STEROIDS!!!!  I love fishing for tench, the carp are an added extra, but you can't beat the fight tench put up.

BTW one of the tench had its left fin missing, looks deformed rather than an injury, you never know someone else may pull it out.  See pic.

two of my mates av ad a tench with abit of a dodgy fin in yew tree weighed just short of 7lb dont no if thats the same fish. ive also had a 8lb carp that looked like quasimodo 3 times out of the brickworks it never learns!

I've just bought some cheap digital scales off ebay, sick of guessing weights based on a bag of sugar!  Hope it is that one your mates have caught, I could well be doing myself out of a pound or two!
