Now I have given up the Demon Drink, I am looking for somewhere to fish this afternoon, Heron Lake is one place I have not fished so might have a go there myself, will report if I go there.
Sorry mate, never made it to Four Oaks, ended up at Lower Ridge, fished Peg 1 to the Lily Pads, water is seriously low, down about 18 inch, was fishing in 2 foot of water, nevertheless persevered with corn and strawberry pellet, and the fish come on the feed, good mixed bag, Ide, Tench, Brown Goldfish, and a couple of Carp around 3-4lb.
Will give Lower Ridge a miss in the future until we have had a good bout of rain.
Hope the weather is OK on Sunday, have yet to decide where to go?
Hi Dave
Fished 4 Oaks Heron lake myself today, water level way down.
Only a few carp and some bits
Sure it will be a lot better when water levels come up again
Pete`s pool at 4 Oaks has plenty of water and is fishing well
took the grandson who is 7 for his first fishing outing today ,as hed got a rod set for a birthday present of one of his aunties,i decided on raby mere as its local and hes been there before albeit only to feed the ducks,
i hadnt fished here for a few yrs when leverhulme estates had it ,we only had 3 hrs till the wife good soul that she is picked us up again.so we plumped for a half sunken tree peg and threw caution to the wind and used maggots lol.i fished the pole at 9metres and i set callums rod up and cast his float rig out towards the tree.i had the first fish a smal sgt stripey.then i thought id caught a good fish when the float dipped again only to find i had a terrapin on the hook ,after a bit of shaking he got off with my float rig intact ,bugger .next callums screams out grandad me float is gone and he pulls in a small stripey ,wouldent hold it though lol.but the smile on his face lit all the candles in the world .we ended up with 5 stripeys to 8ozs, 1 eel,and the terrapin ,
